Thanks for visiting Caramel. We set it up because we suddenly realised that there were more than a couple of indiepop fanzines out there and maybe there was a point in bringing them all together into a distro. There was a time when indiepop fanzines were the main source of information about bands, shows and your best bet to start meeting other people into the same music. The internet kind of took that away from us but at the same time it made things a million times easier and more democratic and now the DIY scene is stronger than ever. But fanzines are back and even if they serve a different purpose now, they're still a very important part of what is going on and the revival of the indiepop underground movement.

Starting a fanzine is not difficult. Read how Andy (A Fog of Ideas) and Louise (Sapricot) go about it in our How To guide.
The distro has been set up by us, Ian and Marianthi. We are also involved with Spiral Scratch. Ian also plays guitar in Pocketbooks and used to write for Friends of the Heroes. Marianthi co-runs Atomic Beat Records and used to do the Greek fanzine Chrysalifourfouro.
